Lagging behind

(Be warned: Excuses ahead.)

I have been really busy. With school. Experiment knitting (I haven't been swatching). With reading. Soooo. I haven't gotten around to getting pictures for the A-B-C along. Which I should have done a while ago. I will get right on that.

Wanna know what I got in the mail today?

Hehe, my first internet order! The pink and purple will be a shawl for my mom, the middle will be some sort of socks, and one day, I'm going to have my friends over and we will dye the natural yarn. I see good times (hopefully) in my future.

This is what I woke up to this morning. But when I got home from the mall and the movies, it's all gone. I love snow.

Well, Conviction is almost on and I have yarn to wind! So more tomorrow.

The last of it...

It snowed today and I think that we just got the last bit of the season. I love snow. Especially the three-foot deep kind. The school-cancelling kind. I'm sad to see it go.
This one is just for fun.

Lorna's Laces

(I'm posting again to make up for not posting much this weekend.)

I just found out that I won the Lorna's Laces sock yarn in Aslan that I bid on earlier. Woo! I'm pretty happy. This will be my first Lorna's experience. Although almost every yarn purchase I make as of now is the first time with that brand because I've only just begun taking knitting seriously enough to buy some non-acrylic. This eBay news makes me very happy. And to top it all off, I had no homework tonight!

Some sock progress

Yes, I know. These aren't Annie's socks, but I really, really, really, wanted to try some toe-up socks. (The pinks and mint green are really a lot brighter.) And I LOVE it. They seem to go way faster than cuff-down. I love toe-up so much that I frogged the half of Annie's socks and I will start them again toe-up. Hee. I love learning new techniques.

Oh, and I signed up for the AEWE trip. Hopefully, I get on the list then I can go to the Grand Tetons. Oh, so excited. More details when I know if I was accepted or not.

One of my firsts

This is my first pair of socks. They were just made with some acrylic yarn that I first learned to knit with. My only complaint? I purled two stitches. Can you see them? There on the left foot. I don't know how I managed that. I guess I have another complaint too. I followed the pattern, but I think the heel flap was way too short.

Mmm. I love me some Noro.

I finished the handles for a
Booga Bag
(Noro Kuryon in color 91 )
for my mom. So, I made a few mitered squares, inspired by Alison over at the Blue Blog. My square collection won't be growing as fast as hers because I'm only going to add to it when I have bits left over from some same guage yarn. Hopefully I can aim for coordinating colors.

P.S. Chloe won Project Runway if you didn't have time to watch it last night.

"What happened to AndraƩ?"

Woo! Season Finale Part 2 tonight! Project Runway on Bravo if you didn't already know. Even though AndraƩ didn't make top three, I still think he was great.

I hope that Daniel V. wins, but by the looks of things from last week, I bet Santino will win, Chloe second. Daniel V. might win but with Tim Gunn's lack of enthusiasm, I'm a bit nervous.

My home

Ain't it a beauty? Mark Wineland designed it some nine years or so ago. But he moved, and we (and by we, I mean my parents) bought it. Then schtuck a pool in. Heated. Nice.
I think it's pretty neat and I love the wood, although when we first moved in when I was seven, I reportedly, did not fancy moving too well.
Bleck, the deadness of the pre-spring, post-winter lull. I hate not having snow. But I hate having it hot more.
And this one is just for fun. Me in my driveway.

A Finished Object!

Here they are in the recipient. Kristy loves them. They aren't the greatest, they aren't made of anything wool, and my grafting sucked. And I don't think I will ever knit her socks again. Haha, her feet are twelve inches long! And her toes really go all the way to the end, it just doesn't look like it on her left foot. It does.

Oh, and for the ABC along? What letter is everyone supposed to be on? I just started with 'A' and I can catch up.

A is for Amanda

This ...

is Amanda. And as much as she annoys me, she's my sister and I love her.

No sheep were hurt during the collection of the wool.

Wow.
I just read an article on the internet. It said that wool is bad because sheep are hurt whilst collecting it. It said that sheep have their ears pierced without anethsetics. Duh, it's called tagging. And don't thousands of people already have their ears pierced almost the same way? It also said that they were bred to have wrinkly skin which makes better wool, but collects urine and other disease causeing things...Come on. Say thanks to Mother Nature for that one. Damn, some people....

Recent knitting

These red and black ones are for Annie.
These white, pink, and green ones are for Kristy's feet. (as you can see the compairison to mine and how much I have left to go)

From whom my blog gets its name.

This is Fletch. He is an Old English Sheepdog. I love him very much. Too bad he doesn't actually knit. That would be pretty neat.

When I get around to it, I'll post some pictures of my knitting. That will probably be later tonight.
