I did not evaporate into thin air.

I'm still here. And there has been knitting. I'm knitting Leftovers from Knitty. Only it's solid. I still have a few more inches of plain knitting before I can split for the front and back.

Oh. And I went to Mt. Bruce's Sheep and Wool festival. I will be going back next year. I'll post pictures of what I got when I can find the time. School has had a really heavy work load.
Thanks for stopping by...

I remember...

...when it happened.

I was eleven and in my second hour of science class. There was a buzz in the hall way and my teacher, Mrs. Truex, turned on the tv because she talked with a teacher across the hall. We watched the news for maybe three minutes before the principal came by and said we had to turn it off. He said it might offend some of the students. We had about 5 Arabs in my whole class. I was upset because I knew that this wasn't just any attack. I wanted to watch it. I wanted to know what was going on. Honestly, no one in friggen Coldwater had any idea that any of this was going to happen, so I don't see why he made us turn off the tv.
Once I got home, I sat with my grandma and my mom, just watching the television replay the falling towers over and over. I can remember that they were already talking about how Bush continued to read to that class of kids, even after he heard about the attacks.
I was eleven. I didn't know any one who was killed. But I did feel the effects. My cousin was sent overseas and he saw people die. His friends died. And when he was talking about it, I could just feel...it. He almost cried. My cousin, Ryan, who is almost the most macho guy I know...

This whole thing is a sad ordeal and I really can't even begin to understand how people who had family die in the towers and pentagon even feel. I hope the babies and children who's fathers or mothers had died in the attacks know that they loved them as much as it is possible to love. another person.

Okay, Great Idea

Alright, I'm going to knit a bag/purse, whatever, for my French teacher. She's crazy and so much fun. I want to do intarsia. I going to put an Eiffel Tower in the lower right corner and the Arc de Triumph on the other side. I have no idea how I want the colors to be. White on black, black on white (issue of how fast it gets dirty), I have no idea. Any suggestions? I want it to be very French.
I'm going to line the bag and the strap so it doesn't get stretched out. I really want to do this in a smaller guage. Probably about 6-8 stitches to the inch.
If anyone has any more ideas, I'd love to hear them.

I am so excited.

School.

Uhnnnnn. Being a junior is all reading. Reading, reading, reading, and more reading. I'm only complaining about the history reading. And maybe the chemistry reading too. All of this reading makes blog reading hard to keep up with. Blogging is hard too. I really hate to interpret poetry. I should be doing homework, so go away and leave me alone.

No, I'm only kidding. But I really shouldn't be reading blogs right now. No knitting as of Labor Day. I'm VERY sad and my hands hate me right now.

Update

Okay, I spent a few days at Annie's house. I want Ishla (Sibe). She's such a sweetie. She's older, so maybe I can get my mom to let me have her. Fun times. I'm also going to try to clicker train Fletch. Has anyone tried this with their dog?

Annie got me a $20 dollar certificate for my birthday to go to my LYS. Can you say score?

I also got my spindle that I ordered off Ebay. I guess I can spin, but it's still really uneven and slubby in places. I've got my first little skein soaking and I'll be hanging it up soon to set the twist. Get this: I have no idea what I'm doing.

You'd think I'd read through this before I publish it. But no, I see my post via bloglines and I see that I wrote 'spend' instead of 'spent'. I'm an idiot. Feel free to laugh for a long time at my MoRH.
