To tide you over

I have at least three posts in my head, but it's taking me a while to write them and put the pictures all together, so for today, I'll leave you with Lou.

ETA:That's annoying. My saved draft post is under the day that I started it, and not the day I posted it. It should be up for today, and not Wednesday...

My birthday was yesterday, and I had a great time with my friends and family. Click on over to my Flickr to see what I got.

Time and Lazy

It won't stop raining. It's been cloudy for days. I'm still knitting, but I'm not knitting what I want to. Why is it that anytime I'm free, I don't feel like doing the math for my sweater, but as soon as I have things to do, I really want to work on it? And I wish I had a printer. It's fairly annoying to have to go to my grandparents' houses anytime I want something printed off, like charts, for example. I can't knit my colorwork mittens away from my desk right now because I have to sit in front of my computer to read the charts. I suppose I could copy them down by hand...But I don't have any graph paper and I really don't want to draw a ton of squares.

I've got to go volunteer at my local hospital.

Half-way there!

Half-way there, originally uploaded by Fletch Knits.

Mitten One is finished, ends woven in, too. I'm about half way through the cuff on the second right now. I love this yarn. These mittens will be for my mom...maybe, if I don't steal them. Hehe.

Happy Birthday to Me: Part One

Whorl detail, originally uploaded by Fletch Knits.

Yay!!

Birthday Present!, originally uploaded by Fletch Knits.

Thank you so much Shannon! I love it! If you click any of the pictures below, you can see details about them. I got all of that at the Michigan Fiber Festival. I went with my mom and Emily. The weather was pretty much perfect and I would have bought so much more if I had the money. I had an awesome time and I can't wait for the festival in September.

Mitten!

Mitten!, originally uploaded by Fletch Knits.

I have a feeling that this is going to end up too small. Again. I've tried colorwork mittens before, and my stitches are super uneven and too small.

In other news, Michigan Fiber Festival is tomorrow, so I'll be going to that. Woo! See you Sunday!

Darn!

My sweater is half way perfect. Except the arm holes are too big. The waist shaping is perfect, but I'm going to have to completely frog and start again after doing more math to figure out where to put the stitch markers again for the shoulder stitches. Darn it!

Post Secret

Post Secret is one of the only reasons I look forward to Sundays.

Sweater Number Two

Modified Buttony Sweater, originally uploaded by Fletch Knits.

This is my second sweater in my nearly two years of knitting. I'm excited about this one because I'm knitting it with my handspun! It's a modified Buttony Sweater. I'm making it into a pullover, rather than a cardigan. I joined it into the round by taking the six stitches from each of the button bands and putting them on the needle one stitch from the left, one from the right, etc., until all twelve stitches were staggered. Then I just knit two together six times and then I finished working in the round. I'm to the point of putting the sleeve stitches onto holders and working the body. I want to do some waist shaping, but that will involve math. Wish me luck.

Done!

Finished, originally uploaded by Fletch Knits.

Here are my socks. They're just plain stockinette. Toe-up, short-row toes and heels, 64 stitches for the foot and I increased up to 72 throughout the leg. All I need is to find some elastic thread and sew it into the cuffs. Yay, another pair of socks this summer!

Fiberlicious Friday

Cupcake, originally uploaded by Fletch Knits.

Yummy. Couldn't resist. I should have a pair of socks for tomorrow. Definately finished tomorrow, offical post, either tomorrow morning or Saturday. Yes, I know it's technically Friday now, but I haven't gone to bed yet. Naughty me

And the search officially begins

This is how I spend yesterday. I went over to my best friend's house and she helped me narrow down my search for school. I think I'm going to major in Business Management, or something like it. That has a good job outlook, doesn't it? There are a lot of things I would like to major in, like electrical or chemical engineering, but I don't know what kind of job I'd get after that. Hm. Decisions, decisions.

Sock and a half, originally uploaded by Fletch Knits.

My second sock is almost finished! I'm quite happy. Ever since I got on Ravelry, I've been starting and finishing things like crazy. I've still got a couple of projects that haven't made it to Ravelry yet because I haven't gotten around to taking pictures yet.

In other news, I turn seventeen on the twenty-sixth! I don't exactly like being odd-number years old, but I guess I have to deal. =] And, I'm almost excited for my senior year of high school, but part of me is still really afraid of growing up.
