I've got the blues.

I'm in a funk. I haven't knit a stitch for days. I really don't know why I'm not in the mood, other than boy troubles. I want to knit! I just can't. Also, I've had this blog for a year now. I'll be impressed if I make it to five.

I don't even have a problem purling five stitches together. I am cheating a little by using a size 0 sock needle. It works and nupps are awesome.

Swallowtail.

I've been working on the swallowtail shawl from IK Fall '06. I've modified it by using US 3s. I want it to be more of a decorative scarf than a shawl.

Sweater Number One.

Here it is. I'm going to wear it tomorrow and I might get pictures. It's pretty pink. Really, really pink. I would usually wear red.
This is the Seamless Hybrid from Knitting Without Tears by Elizabeth Zimmerman. I knitted it in Lyon Brand Lion Wool. It's because I'm cheap. I knitted hems in an lighter pink instead of ribbing on the bottom and the cuffs. I used a twisted rib for the collar.
We had a "snowday" today because of the windchill. I'm so happy. I don't care if I can't go outside, I just needed a break from school.

Grr.

Stupid camera cable. It ran away. So no pictures today...

By the way, I got my first spam comment. It was in spanish, something about finding love.

I finished my first sweater!
I didn't post any pictures or mention it because it was just a sea of stockinette. I'll have pictures and details tomorrow when the sun is out.

This is a book I've been reading for a few days and it's really good. Maybe I'm biased because I like all of Jodi Picoults books. She has also written My Sister's Keeper, Plain Truth (there is a Lifetime movie based on this one, starring Mariska Hargitay from Law & Order SVU), The Pact, and others. I suggest that you check one out.

Finally, real snow!

I finished this hat for my friend for a late Christmas present. I think she liked it. Simple hat pattern in bulky yarn. Easy-peasy.

My posting has become erratic and it's only the end of January. I guess I'm not up to this commitment. I'm not going to post everyday with little tid bits of info; if I'm going to post anything it will at least have some interest. Like today. We finally have snow here. Substantial snow that would probably give other districts at least a delay tomorrow, but we have a different person who decides snow days here and whoever it is doesn't like to be lenient. Oh, well.
These are pictures of Fletch playing in the snow. He loves it. I don't know what's up with him, but he always thinks that there are squirrels in any tree that he's free by. If he's on a leash, he's pretty calm. I have a video of him playing with a soccer ball. I might upload it to youtube or something and then I'll post it.
I've gotten almost no where with this walk one hundred miles thing. I guess I'm not very consistent with things that don't involve TV or browsing the Internet. *sigh* As a matter of fact, I think I've misplaced that paper...

I took these pictures this morning. Why wasn't all of that rain snow? I mean, it broke our trees. Ugh. I'm getting so impatient with this dusting of snow and then rain. But it just started to snow now, so maybe there's hope?

Leeds, made-over.

This is a swatch of a shawl I'm working on. It's based on this pattern. I had to chart it out and I'm not knitting it in garter stitch. I'll probably add a different border, maybe Eunny's from the Print 'o the Wave stole. If you've noticed, this is the same yarn that I was using for PotW but I wanted something bigger, and I had made more mistakes than I was happy with.
